To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what contacts (a) his Department and (b) HM Ambassador to Lebanon plan to have with members of Hezbollah’s political wing. (277373)

Our objective with Hezbollah remains unchanged: to urge them to reject violence and play a constructive, democratic and peaceful role in Lebanese politics, in line with UN Security Council Resolutions. We believe that occasional and carefully considered contacts with Hezbollah’s politicians, including its MPs, will on occasions advance this objective.
