There is a cross-departmental commitment to get 2 million more people more active, with my Department, through Sport England, primarily responsible for getting 1 million more people playing more sport as part of this. Activities are included within this 1 million target on the basis that they are recognised as sports by the Home Country Sports Councils, and that each can be performed at least at moderate intensity.
