In June 2005, the National Audit Office (NAO) published a report assessing the Government’s progress in implementing the 2002 cross-cutting review on the voluntary and community sector conducted by HM Treasury. The report found that the recommendations of the cross-cutting review had been addressed but outlined 12 further recommendations. All of these have been taken forward via the subsequent creation of the Office of the Third Sector and in the 2007 Third Sector Review.
