Sure Start Programme: Coventry

To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families how much money his Department allocated to Sure Start initiatives in Coventry in the last 12 months. (283500)

Funding for Sure Start Children’s Centres and predecessor Sure Start local programmes is allocated to local authorities as part of the Sure Start, Early Years and child care grant. The following table sets out Coventry City council’s children’s centre revenue and capital allocations for the current spending review period, 2008-11. Local authorities have flexibility within the terms of the grant to decide how much they spend on centres.
