I can announce that Command Paper Cm 7702, which sets out the Government’s response to the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee report “Global Security: Afghanistan and Pakistan” will be published on 2 October 2009.

The Government welcome the Committee’s report. Afghanistan and Pakistan remain the Government’s top foreign policy priorities. These issues deserve the widest possible engagement and the Committee’s report adds much to the debate. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office looks forward to further discussions with Parliament and all interested parties.
