To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when his Department plans to announce its policy conclusions following the end of the vehicle immobilisation consultation. (290988)

[holding answer 14 September 2009]: The public consultation on the licensing of vehicle immobilisation businesses ended on 23 July. Over 500 responses have been received. These are being analysed and will be published in due course.

Proposals for the licensing of vehicle immobilisation businesses were also included in the proposed 5th session Policing, Crime and Private Security Bill in the draft legislative programme consultation which was published in June 2009. The Government's 5th session legislative programme will be announced by Her Majesty the Queen on 18 November.
