To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change pursuant to the answer of 30 March 2009, Official Report, column 932W, on energy: advisory services, how many members of the public have visited each of the regional advice centres in each of the last five years. (289759)

The roll out of the network of the Energy Saving Trust (EST) regional advice centres began in March 2008 and was completed in December 2008. The advice centres are not open to the public to visit, but provide the consumer with comprehensive and tailored advice on how to reduce their carbon footprint, through the Government-funded Act on C02 advice line and through outreach events. In 2008-09 the EST advised over 1.3 million consumers through their advice centres.

The roll-out of the network of the EST regional advice centres began in March 2008 and was completed in December 2008. We are not able to provide details on the cost of running each regional advice centre as this information is commercially sensitive as the contracts were let by EST by competitive tender.
