Haemophilia

To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether tissue or blood samples taken from UK haemophiliacs, and held as library samples, have been tested for the presence of diseases in the last three years without disclosure to the patients concerned; and if he will make a statement. (292346)

The Department is not aware of any cases where samples from United Kingdom haemophiliacs have been tested without appropriate consent being given.
