Heroin: Clinical Trials

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what methodology his Department used to calculate the average cost per patient of its clinical trials of medicalised heroin injections; how many patients undergoing the trials had a previous criminal record including a custodial sentence; how many patients were under the age of 30; and how many patients did not complete the trial. The results of the Randomised Injectable Opioid Treatment Trial are currently being written up by the National Addiction Centre which led this research. Once the report is published, a copy will be placed in the Library.
