To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what his Department’s policy is on sending a written acknowledgement, including a case reference number, on receipt of a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. (292882)

It is the policy of this Department to send acknowledgements of all Freedom of Information requests received within seven days of receipt in the Department except where it is possible to provide a substantive response within that time or shortly thereafter.
