To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many anti-social behaviour orders have been issued in (a) Wales and (b) Newport East constituency since 1998. (295929)

Antisocial behaviour orders (ASBOs) became available from 1 April 1999. The latest available data on the number of ASBOs issued cover the period 1 April 1999 to 31 December 2007. These data are not available below Criminal Justice System (CJS) area level.

Between 1 April 1999 and 31 December 2007, a total of 783 ASBOs were issued at all courts in Wales.
