To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office what assessment was made of the sustainability of the policies set out in Building Britain's Future. (288024)

Building Britain's Future set out a range of commitments that will positively benefit sustainability, including ensuring investment in energy efficiency and the next generation of renewables, nuclear and clean coal technology to make Britain a global leader in low carbon industries; incentives for the take up of low carbon buses; developing a National Cycle Plan to promote cycling as a mainstream form of personal transport; and a commitment over the next two years to build 20,000 new energy efficient social and affordable homes.
