To ask the Minister of State, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills what recent estimate he has made of the financial losses experienced by further education colleges in the last 12 months which have not received capital funding from the Building Colleges for the Future programme. We are not able to provide this information as colleges are not due to submit audited accounts for 2008-09 until the end of the calendar year, which will then be reviewed by the Learning and Skills Council.

The LSC has an existing process in place for dealing with colleges that experience financial difficulties and is committed to ensuring that no college gets into financial difficulty as a result of the Building Colleges for the Future Programme.
