Domestic Violence

Volume 502: debated on Thursday 10 December 2009

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assessment has been made of the merits of systems to enable anonymous reporting of domestic abuse. (304222)

There has not been a Government assessment of systems to enable anonymous reporting of domestic abuse.

The Government expect all incidents of domestic violence to be taken seriously, however, they are reported. The implementation of specialist domestic violence courts and independent domestic violence advisers demonstrates that the Government are committed to ensuring that victims are supported throughout their engagement with the criminal and civil justice system.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what estimate his Department has made of the cost of full implementation of all of proposals of his Department’s Together we can end violence against women and girls strategy. (305410)

The cross-Government strategy “Together We Can End Violence Against Women and Girls” was launched on 25 November 2009.

A comprehensive new burdens assessment will be published shortly.
