Departmental Scientists

Volume 503: debated on Monday 11 January 2010

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs how many (a) scientific advisers and (b) civil servants in scientific posts there are in his Department. (301925)

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has a chief scientific adviser, Professor Robert Watson. DEFRA does not hold data on the number of scientific posts it has in the department and these data could be collated only at disproportionate cost.
