Police: Olympic Games 2012

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what recent discussions he has had with the Minister for the Olympics on the policing of the London 2012 Olympics. (308472)

[holding answer 5 January 2010]: Security planning for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games is discussed at regular meetings of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on National Security, International Relations and Development (Protective Security and Resilience) (NS)D (PSR)) which my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary chairs and which my right hon. Friend the Minister for the Olympics attends. The Minister for the Olympics has also had several recent discussions with Admiral the Lord West of Spithead, the responsible Minister for Olympic security, about policing and related security issues around the games.
