The Equality and Human Rights Commission plans to implement its Dignity at Work policy in January 2010. The Commission has had an interim policy in place since October 2008. This policy was drafted in full consultation with the recognised unions.

Along with other employment policies, the Commission’s Dignity at Work policy has been reviewed and revised. In order to undertake this exercise the Commission has:

Consulted with the unions;

Worked with the Staff Groups;

Undertaken an Equality Impact Assessment;

Agreed a communication strategy;

Sought Senior Management Team and Union Branch approval;

Identified appropriate training which will be given to employees of the Commission to coincide with the launch.
