Climate Change: International Cooperation

Volume 503: debated on Monday 11 January 2010

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what assessment he has made of the effects of the outcomes of the Copenhagen climate change conference on his Department's policies. (309315)

I refer the hon. Member to the oral statement made by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State on 5 January 2010, Official Report, column 42, for the Government's assessment of the Copenhagen conference.

At home, the UK's Low Carbon Transition Plan provides a long-term vision to make the UK a low carbon economy while maximising economic opportunities, maintaining secure energy supplies and protecting the most vulnerable in society. No changes are envisaged following the immediate outcomes of the Copenhagen conference.
