To ask the Minister of State, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills how many pyramid-selling schemes have been wound up by his Department after the presentation of petitions under the Insolvency Act 1986 in each year since 1997. (309484)

Unfortunately the records maintained do not contain sufficient detail to provide this information. But I can assure my hon. Friend that the Department continues to treat abuses which occur in pyramid-selling schemes and other similar schemes very seriously, and will continue to petition to wind up those which are trading against the public interest.
