Since its introduction in April 2006, 1.4 million qualifications have been undertaken through the Train to Gain programme. In the 2010-11 financial year, planned investment in Train to Gain will be £983 million, an increase of 6.2 per cent. compared with planned investment for the 2009-10 financial year. Our continuing investment in this programme, and in the broader further education and skills sector, for 2010-11 financial year has recently been set out in the Skills Investment Strategy 2010-11 (November 2009).
