Police: Football

Volume 506: debated on Friday 26 February 2010

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much has been spent policing football matches in (a) each police force area and (b) England and Wales in each year since 2003. (317570)

We do not have a national estimate for how much forces spend on policing annually. Forces are able to recharge a proportion of their costs and we estimate that the costs of policing charged to clubs annually is between £12-15 million.
