The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is an industry initiative. The Government welcome the scheme's aims which are to improve competence and good health and safety practice in the construction industry, and to encourage the achievement of relevant formal qualifications by industry employees. The construction pages on the Department's website refer to the work of the CSCS and equivalent schemes and provides a link to the CSCS website. That said, the Government have no role in setting the scheme's rules, and do not undertake promotional activity for the scheme.
