To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many (a) grammar, (b) comprehensive and (c) academy schools had operational Combined Cadet Forces in the last year for which figures are available. (319983)

As at 1 April 2009, the position in the state sector was:

State grammar schools: 22;

State academies: 4;

Other state schools: 34.
