Volume 506: debated on Wednesday 3 March 2010

Departmental NDPBs

To ask the Secretary of State for Health for how many non-departmental public bodies his Department is responsible.

[Official Report, 1 February 2010, Vol. 505, c. 55-56W.]

Letter of correction from Mr. Phil Hope:

An error has been identified in the written answer given to the hon. Member for Castle Point (Bob Spink) on 1 February 2010. I am sorry that the answer said that the Department had nine strategic health authorities; it should have referred to nine special health authorities.

The correct answer should have been: (314255)

The Department has one agency, 10 executive non-departmental public bodies, nine special health authorities and 30 advisory non-departmental public bodies. Further detailed information is contained in the ‘Department of Health's Public Bodies 2009’, a copy of which has been placed in the Library. This document is also available on the Department's website:
