Air Pollution

Volume 506: debated on Thursday 4 March 2010

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what estimate he has made of the level of (a) particulate and (b) nitrous oxide emissions in each of the last five years. (320340)

Estimates of the UK emissions for a range of air pollutants are submitted annually to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe's Convention on Long Range Transboundary Air Pollution. The following table shows the emission estimates for fine particles (PM2.5), coarse particles (PM10), nitrous oxide (N2O) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) in each of the last five years for which data are available.
