Doctors and Nurses: Manpower

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many (a) doctors and (b) nurses were employed in the NHS in Wolverhampton (i) in 1997 and (ii) at the latest date for which figures are available. (322256)

However, the number of consultants, doctors in training and national health service hospital and community health services (HCHS) qualified nursing staff, at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust as at 30 September, for 1997 and the latest date available, is shown in the following table:
