Government Car and Despatch Agency

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change how much his Department has paid to the Government Car and Despatch Agency since its inception; how much it has spent on such payments in 2009-10; and what proportion of such payments was made in respect of the Government Car Service. The Department of Energy and Climate Change has paid to the Government Car and Despatch Agency £432,566.50 since its inception on 3 October 2008. The latest available figures at the end of January 2010 show a total of £338,809.31 has been paid in the financial year 2009-10. All the payments were in respect of the Government Car Service.

Costs to Departments of ministerial cars are reported annually to Parliament by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Transport through written ministerial statement and are available in the Library of the House.
