My Lords, I beg to move that a Message of Condolence be sent to Her Majesty, the Queen Mother.

Moved, That a Message of Condolence be conveyed to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother:

Tendering to Her Majesty the deep sympathy of this House in Her bereavement;

Assuring Her Majesty that this House shares Her sorrow in the irreparable loss which Her Majesty and the nation have sustained by the death of our beloved King, Her Husband; and

Expressing to Her Majesty the reverence and affection in which Her Majesty will ever be held by this House.—( The Marquess of Salisbury.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, nemine dissentiente, and ordered accordingly: the said Message to be presented to Her Majesty the Queen Mother by the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, the Lord Chancellor, the Lord Privy Seal, the Earl Jowitt and the Viscount Samuel.
