asked Her Majesty's Government:How many times helicopters have been called out to rescue mountaineers or hill walkers in the last six months.

Statistics are not kept in the precise form requested, but in the six months to 31st December 1987, UK-based Royal Navy and Royal Air Force search and rescue helicopters flew about 150 sorties to assist mountaineers and hill walkers.
