asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will seek an extension of the three month time limit for finalising all details of the constitution of Iraq; and whether they will support a unified code on the personal status of women.[HL7147]

The contents of the Iraqi constitution and the timescale for its review are matters for the Iraqi legislature and people. We continue to press the Government of Iraq to ensure that they comply with their international obligations and are working closely with them to promote the position and well-being of women in Iraq.
