asked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether, in view of the judgment of the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights in Kyprianou v Cyprus, they have any proposals to change the common law on contempt in the face of the court.[HL8023]
The Government do not believe that any change in UK laws is needed as a result of this judgment. The decision by the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights was made on the facts of the particular case.
