asked Her Majesty's Government:
What information they have received about the final report and recommendations of the presidential fact-finding team established in December 2004 to investigate the murder of human rights activist Munir Said Thalib on a flight from Jakarta to the Netherlands on 7 September 2004. [HL8064]
We have received no information about the final report and recommendations of the presidential fact-finding team, as neither have been made public. The Finnish embassy in Jakarta, in relation to Finland’s role holding the EU presidency, made representations to the Indonesian Foreign Minister urging the Government of Indonesia to ensure that the police are fully supported in their ongoing investigations into the death of Munir Said Thalib. We will continue to follow this case closely.
