asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the investigatory powers of the Northern Ireland Police Ombudsman extend to matters of United Kingdom national security; and, if so, what are the implications of this for the war against international terrorism. [HL2339]

The investigatory powers of the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland do not extend to matters of United Kingdom national security except in so far as the powers relate to the conduct of police officers.
