asked Her Majesty's Government:

What action they propose to take in order to encourage doctors who treat patients with dyspepsia or gastro-oesophageal reflux to follow the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence guidelines by prescribing intermittent treatment with proton pump inhibitors and alginate barrier preparations. Health professionals have a duty to provide the best possible healthcare for their patients based on current guidance, including that issued by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).
