Housing: Supply

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the statistical basis for the statement by Baroness Morgan of Drefelin on 20 June (Official Report, col. 220) that “housing supply has increased by over one-third”.[HL4477]

Between 2001 and 2006 the annual rate of new housing supply has grown from around 130,000 to over 180,000, an increase of around 40 per cent.
