asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many Royal Navy vessels have been seized in the Gulf by Iran in the past 10 years; and how many of them have been returned to the United Kingdom. [HL1022]

Iran has seized a total of four Royal Navy boats in two separate incidents in 2004 and 2007. We have raised the matter with the Iranian authorities on a number of occasions, and continue to press for their return.
