asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they propose to reduce further smoking in public places for health reasons. [HL3082]

The Government have no plans at present to extend smokefree legislation beyond the parts of premises covered by Part 1, Chapter 1 of the Health Act 2006.

The department has undertaken to review the operation of smokefree legislation in 2010.
