The OFT launched a market study in April 2007 to consider questions about competition and value for money in the provision of personal current accounts, such as transparency of costs to consumers and ease of switching. The OFT will be engaging with relevant parties over the coming months in order to discuss the findings from the market study published in July 2008 and the most appropriate next steps to tackle the problems identified.
