Northern Ireland: Human Rights Commission

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Further to the Written Answer by the Lord President (Baroness Royall of Blaisdon) on 29 October (WA 173) on the budget of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission, if the Belfast agreement of 1998 requires the Irish Government to establish a Human Rights Commission with a mandate and remit equivalent to that in Northern Ireland, how they monitor that following the reduction in funding of the Irish Human Rights Commission. [HL6050]

Funding and operational issues relating to the Irish Human Rights Commission are a matter for the Irish Government.
