To ask Her Majesty's Government which proposals are on the final short list for eco-town developments; and when they expect to announce the final list. [HL931]

The Government are currently consulting on the draft eco-towns planning policy statement (PPS), which lists in annexe A 12 locations with potential to be an eco-town. This was published on 4 November 2008 along with the sustainability appraisal, and copies are available in the House Library.

Later in the year, following the end of the consultation, the Government will publish the final PPS and list of locations with potential to be an eco-town.
