Volume 709: debated on Thursday 19 March 2009

Question

Asked by

To ask Her Majesty's Government what are the standard employer and employee contribution rates of the five biggest public sector pension schemes; how much in employer contributions has been paid to those schemes in each of the past three years; and how much extra has been paid in each of those years to cover differences between income and expenditure. [HL1946]

The Cabinet Office has responsibility for the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme (PCSPS). Details of the income and expenditure of the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme are contained in Cabinet Office: Civil Superannuation Resource Accounts. Copies of the resource accounts for the years up to and including 2007-08 can be found in the Library. Information for other public service schemes is the responsibility of the relevant department.
