Environment: Novel Technologies

Volume 711: debated on Tuesday 2 June 2009

My honourable friend the Minister for the Natural and Marine Environment, Wildlife and Rural Affairs (Huw Irranca-Davies) has made the following Written Ministerial Statement.

I am pleased to announce the Government’s response to the 27th report of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution, Novel Materials in the Environment: The Case of Nanotechnology, which was laid before Parliament on 11 November 2008.

We welcome the report of the royal commission, which has already made—and will continue to make—an invaluable contribution to our thinking on the management of emerging novel technologies such as nanotechnology.

The government response will be laid before Parliament today. Copies will be available in the Printed Paper Office.
