To ask Her Majesty's Government further to the Written Answer by Lord Myners on 1 June (WA 43), what are the measurable components of the “living standards” for the poorest households and the richest households which determine whether there is a credible trend in the gap between rich and poor people in the United Kingdom. The term “living standards” is used to refer to household disposable incomes, after adjusting for the household size and composition, as published in the Households Below Average Income (HBAI) publication, available at www.dwp.gov.uk/asd/hbai/hbai2008/chapters.asp.
