To ask Her Majesty's Government further to the Written Answer by Lord Myners on 11 May (WA 160), what was the net cost to public funds of the intervention by the Bank of England, acting as agent for HM Treasury, to support the euro in September 2000. [HL3946]

The euros purchased in the intervention were subsequently sold back to the market. There was no cost to public funds associated with this intervention.
