To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they propose to make it illegal to smoke near young children. [HL4775]

Because of the dangers to the health of children from second-hand tobacco smoke people are urged to avoid smoking near children, especially in confined spaces such as cars. We have given a commitment to complete a review the smoke-free law in England after three years. The review will be carried out in 2010.
