NHS: Chief Executives

Volume 712: debated on Monday 5 October 2009

Question

Asked by

To ask Her Majesty's Government by strategic health authority, how many chief executives of NHS trusts (including primary care trusts and foundation trusts) left the employment of their trusts in (a) the latest full year for which information is available, and (b) the preceding two years. [HL5277]

An estimate from the Electronic Staff Record Data Warehouse suggests that around 15 per cent of chief executives left their role in the 12 months ending 30 April 2009. The completeness of the data does not support a breakdown by strategic health authority; nor does an analysis for the two preceding years.
