Asked by

To ask Her Majesty's Government what proportion of NHS expenditure on hospital services was covered by the tariff in (a) 2008–09, and (b) each of the previous two years; and what plans they have to increase that proportion and by how much in 2010–11. [HL5278]

The following table shows the percentage of primary care trust (PCT) expenditure on secondary healthcare covered by the payment by results national tariff between 2006-07 and 2008-09. There are no plans to increase this percentage in 2010-11.
