To ask Her Majesty's Government why the name and address of anyone collecting Tamiflu on behalf of a person diagnosed by telephone as suffering from swine flu has been recorded; whether the data will kept; if so, by whom and for how long; who will be allowed to access them; and for what purposes. [HL5400]
The National Pandemic Flu Service asks for the identification of the person collecting the antiviral to be confirmed in case any issues are subsequently raised about the collection of the antiviral.
The name and address is recorded in case there is a need to contact the person in the future, for example, if a patient reports that they have not received their antiviral, the details of the person who collected it can be checked. The information will not be used for other purposes.
The data is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and UK privacy laws.
