To ask Her Majesty's Government further to the Answer by Lord Rooker on 18 June 2007 (Official Report, House of Lords, col. 7), what progress the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is making under the simplification programme; and which of the 130 aspects of the programme are under way or have been achieved. Defra's 2009 simplification plan will be published in early December. It contains full details of savings already achieved or due to be delivered by May 2010.
