To ask Her Majesty's Government further to the Written Answer by Lord McKenzie of Luton on 6 November (WA 97–8), what is the cost to the taxpayer of not applying deflation to benefits and pensions in 2010–11; and whether if deflation continues they will review relevant legislation that does not permit such reductions. [HL105]

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether rate increases will be applied to public sector pensions in 2010–11; what is the estimated cost of public sector pension schemes not taking account of deflation of 1.4 per cent in the September retail prices index; and whether any public sector pension scheme's rate changes are governed by the September retail prices index figure.
